2 depth signings that can help provide more offense for the Chicago Blackhawks

It sure seems like Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks are going to have a relatively quiet offseason, as they are planning on running a very young lineup this season. This free agent class doesn't have many options that make sense for the Hawks, but here are 2 options that could help their top 6.Colorado Avalanche v Toronto Maple Leafs

Could the Chicago Blackhawks sign Jonathan Drouin?

30-year-old Jonathan Drouin has had a bit of a career resurgence after reuniting with former juniors teammate Nathan MacKinnon in Colorado and has shown to be able to produce in a top 6 role after putting up 37 points in 43 games last season and has 93 points in 112 games over the past two seasons.

Drouin has skill, and though he isn't all that big, he would be an upgrade to provide more offense to a team that struggles to score

Victor Olofsson would be a good target for the Blackhawks.

The last option that I think the Hawks should potentially target is 29-year-old Victor Olofsson. Olofsson has a great shot and most recently played with Vegas, scoring 15 goals for 29 points in 56 games and also had 4 points in 9 playoff games.

He's another guy who, like the others, is more so one-dimensional with their offensive ability, but someone who you can put on your power play and in the top 6 and know they can provide some offense, which the Hawks desperately need.

With guys like Ehlers and Boeser not likely to sign with the rebuilding Blackhawks, it leaves guys like Drouin and Olofsson as more realistic options that won't be very expensive and that you don't need to sign long term, that can provide immediate offensive help to a team that struggles to score. Tomorrow should be fun to watch as free agency begins!
