3 Atlanta Falcons players who are interesting trade pieces in 2024

The Falcons have some quality trade pieces who could interest many teams.

The Atlanta Falcons are entering a season where they will be looking to add rather than subtract from their roster before the trade deadline.

While the NFL isn't like the MLB where you see established stars being traded for prospects, we still occasionally see players and picks shipped off for an established star. The Falcons have some areas they must address which may require some trades.

Fortunately, they have these players who they can trade, along with picks, to help get the player they want.

1. Avery Williams

Avery Williams has had quite a ride these past two seasons. He went from being the best punt returner in the league to having a season-ending injury last year. Now, he hopes to be the primary return man for the Falcons.

However, the team has complicated things after signing Ray-Ray McCloud who has made a name for himself as a return man.

Unfortunately, Williams may be dispensable if the right situation presents itself. A team that values special teams and has an injury to their return man would have to come calling to offer enough for Terry Fontenot to trade Williams. Or they can use him to sweeten the pot to acquire a superstar.

2. Nate Landman

Nate Landman's breakout campaign last year saved the Atlanta Falcons defense. Following an injury to Troy Andersen, the position was in disarray but Landman stepped up and proved to be one of the best in the league.

While the Falcons brought back the undrafted star by re-signing him, he is only on a one-year deal and if they are not looking to pay him in the long run, they should trade him.

A team looking to add a nasty, downhill linebacker to their defense, should be interested in the third-year backer. Landman is the type of player who will add physicality to any defense.

3. Richie Grant

Richie Grant was buried on the depth chart last season. He went from being the defense's snap-count leader to being benched for a seventh-round rookie. New head coach Raheem Morris has praised Grant but, chances are, it will be more of the same from the second-round pick in 2021.

Entering the last year of his rookie contract, Terry Fontenot needs to get something for him. Grant is a talented player who needs a change of scenery. Trading him is in the best interest of both the team and the player.

Oftentimes, you can get a team that had a high grade on a player during the draft process to take the bait on a bust. The Falcons should find a buyer for the former UCF star.
