No love was lost between the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night.
The Jets blitzed the Bruins by a final score of 8-1 and during the game, the Bruins weren't happy, which led to three straight fights.
Bruins forward Trent Frederic fought Jets defenseman David Gustafsson and Frederic dropped him with one punch.
After that, Jets defenseman Logan Stanley and Bruins center Mark Kastelic joined in on the fun with Kastelic looking like the winner. Finally, Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov got into a fight with Jets forward Adam Lowry, which was fairly even.
Take a look:
All three of these fights took place while the Jets were up 6-1 with less than 13 minutes to go in the third period. The game was out of reach but the Bruins wanted to send a message for their second matchup against the Jets in January.
The Jets have been one of the NHL's best teams this year, compiling a 21-9-0 record through 30 games, good for 42 points. They're tied for first with the Minnesota Wild in the NHL's Central Division and will be a dangerous team in the playoffs in April.
Kyle Connor leads the Jets with 16 goals and 36 points in 30 games while Mark Scheifele has 16 goals and 34 points in 30 games.
In Beantown, the Bruins are 15-12-3 through 30 games, good for third in the Atlantic Division. It's been an up-and-down season for them that has involved firing head coach Jim Montgomery and replacing him with Joe Sacco.
Montgomery was fired earlier in the season before the St. Louis Blues hired him as their new head coach.
David Pastrnak leads all Bruins skaters with 10 goals and 28 points in 30 games while Brad Marchand is right behind him with 11 goals and 22 points.
The Bruins will play their next game this Thursday against the Seattle Kraken while the Jets will play the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.
