3 Trаde Tаrgets for tһe New York Yаnkees

The New York Yankees have had a strong start to the season, and are one of the better teams in the MLB right now. The team has World Series aspirations and will look to bolster their roster this summer. While the team has played well, there are a few positions that could use upgrades. Here are three trade targets the Yankees could go after.

Ryan McMahon

Ryan McMahon is a great trade target for the Yankees. His primary position is third base, but he can also play second or first. This offers the Yankees a player who can be used across the infield, allowing them to get creative with their lineups. McMahon could fill in for players daily, allowing everyone to have extra rest days to keep people fresh. McMahon himself would be an everyday player for the team, and likely the immediate third baseman.

The Yankees are sure to look to upgrade their infield, as they have a number of players who are good, but not great. McMahon is having his best season for the Colorado Rockies, hitting .278 with a .823 OPS. He’s also on a very reasonable contract, and under control through 2027. McMahon is a left bat which would potentially allow his power numbers to step up in Yankee Stadium.

Pete Alonso

Anthony Rizzo has been disappointing this season, so the Yankees may look to upgrade. While a trade between both New York teams, Alonso could be a good fit. Alonso would add another great power bat to the Yankees lineup, making it even more difficult for opposing pitchers to navigate. He would potentially slot into the clean-up spot, behind Volpe, Soto, and Judge. Adding a power bat to protect Judge in the lineup would allow even more opportunity for Judge and Soto. Alonso is an expiring contract, and the Mets are rumored to move him given their disappointing season.

Tanner Scott

The Yankees have had great pitching this season, but there’s never enough. Adding another high-leverage bullpen arm would benefit them. Tanner Scott is having a great season for the Miami Marlins, pitching to a 1.50 ERA. As an expiring deal, the Marlins are expected to trade Scott this season. The Yankees make a lot of sense to go after him, as they could use another lefty in the bullpen to go with Victor Gonzalez and Caleb Ferguson. In big situations, Scott could be relied on over these two.
