49ers release star back

The San Francisco 49ers are in the middle of a major overhaul after they missed the playoffs just one season after their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Injuries played a large role in the Niners’ failures last season, but they know they still need to make major changes to the roster to get things back on track.

As such, San Francisco will add to its roster via free agency and the draft. However, it’ll also be necessary to part ways with some players that are currently on the roster.

One cut has already been made, and unfortunately, it was made to one of the city’s most beloved players, according to one prominent league insider.

“Source: 49ers informed nine-time Pro-Bowl fullback Kyle Juszcyk tonight that he is being released. He is set to hit free agency and wants to continue playing,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“I think he would be great with the Chargers under Harbaugh. As for the 49ers, I did not expect them to blow up the roster,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“This is honestly a shocker seems like the 49ers are going in a completely different direction as far as retooling for next season,” another fan added.

“There is nothing better than a sneaky good full back who can run, block, and catch the ball. He’ll be an asset to any team, especially for a run 1st team,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Juszcyk lands.
