9-1-1 Crossover Event Seemingly Spoiled By Oliver Stark Before Season 9

Oliver Stark as Buck in 9-1-1 season 8, episode 9.

Oliver Stark, who stars as Buck in the 9-1-1 cast, shared a video of himself in Nashville ahead of the season 9 premiere. In the clip from @911TVNEWS on X, Stark is going for a run on Broadway, and the text on the screen reads, "6 Nashville Miles for breakfast." All this suggests that Stark is in town to film a crossover.

What Oliver Stark's Video Means For 9-1-1 & 9-1-1: Nashville

A Crossover Was Inevitable

Since production on 9-1-1 season 9 is underway, we can infer that Stark's post spoils an upcoming crossover between his show and its new spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville. After all, the original procedural drama is filmed in LA, while the offshoot's production is based in Nashville. It can't be a coincidence that Stark is in Nashville when he just started shooting season 9.

Stark's video isn't too surprising. Well, it's a bit shocking that the actor would reveal he's in Nashville, knowing it would reveal that a collaboration between 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville is in the works. However, a 9-1-1 crossover was inevitable. The two shows air back-to-back on Thursday nights starting in the fall of 2025. So, a 9-1-1 crossover just makes sense.

The Franchise Has Needed A Real Crossover For A Long Time

As mentioned above, the two 9-1-1 shows' differing locations would make it difficult logistically to plan a crossover. ABC had to make it work, though, especially since 9-1-1 never had a true crossover with 9-1-1: Lone Star. Yes, some actors from the original series appeared in one episode of the first spinoff. But that wasn't enough.

Perhaps the upcoming event's circumstances are similar to those in the 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star crossover. As such, its story would probably only take place over the course of one episode and only features one character from 9-1-1 (aka Buck). That would be a bit disappointing if that's the case.
