'9-1-1' Fans Just Put Up a Billboard Begging ABC to Bring Back Bobby Nash After His Shocking Death

Now that it’s been one week since 9-1-1 did precisely what fans were asking them not to do and killed off the heartbeat of the show, we’re all over it. That’s right, we’ve packed it up and are heading home. Just kidding! It will be a long time until the Bobby Nash (Peter Krause)-shaped hole in our hearts heals itself and, in the meantime, we will make our voices heard. Today, one of our 9-1-1 brethren has taken it upon themselves to sink money into billboard space in Times Square where the legacy of Bobby can be seen by all. No, we aren’t joking.

The unknown icon’s handiwork has popped up on X in a post that you can see below. Giving a shout-out to the 118, the background image is a closeup of Bobby’s helmet, while off to the side, the words “Man,” “Husband,” “Son,” “Father,” “Brother,” “Savior,” “Captain,” “Survivor,” “Friend,” and “Lifeline” are written. Making their time and money count, the mysterious hero also made sure to include some important hashtags calling for Krause’s character to miraculously come back from the dead and return to his post at the 118. For this, we salute you.

Bobby pays the ultimate price of being a hero. After a fire at a lab unleashed a deadly contagion into the air, the team was forced to make some incredibly tough decisions to ensure the general population would stay safe. Stepping up to lead just as he had so many times before, Bobby took the fall and gave his life for the good of humanity. Since then, the 9-1-1 community has been responding to the sudden upheaval, with fans putting their hearts on their sleeves and cast members writing their farewells to the coworker that has been a constant in many of their lives over the last several years.

Where Does ‘9-1-1’ Go From Here?

For better or for worse, 9-1-1 is skipping this week, with the next episode, titled “The Last Alarm” ringing onto TV screens next Thursday. Yes, it gives us an extra few days to cope with the grief, but right now it sure would be nice to mourn with the characters who have become more like friends and family over the show’s eight-season run. In the days since Bobby’s ultimate sacrifice, showrunner Tim Minear has put out plenty of teasers about what audiences can expect from the remainder of the season. He explained that there will be a placeholder in the Captain’s seat where Bobby used to sit, but that we’ll need to wait until Season 9 to find out who will sit there permanently. We can also expect more pulse-pounding action to carry us through the last few installments with a “mass casualty event” taking the 118 by surprise.

Check out the Times Square billboard in honor of Bobby Nash above and stream 9-1-1 now on Hulu. If you are a 9-1-1 fan who feels personally victimized by last week's episode, hit the link here to the Change.org to bring back Bobby Nash.
