The set-up for Bobby’s death in 9-1-1 was sorely lacking, making the storyline feel like an intentionally shallow storyline included for the sake of shock value. While Bobby’s friends and family worked through some of their grief in the 9-1-1 season 8 finale, the bombshell plot was left in a state of stagnation. Fortunately, 9-1-1 season 9 could fix that.
9-1-1 Should Publicly Preserve Bobby’s Memory By Renaming The Fire Station
A Real-Life Precedent Could Easily Justify The Change
The best way 9-1-1 season 9 can pay tribute to Bobby is by making him a permanent fixture of the series, which could easily be achieved within the set itself. In order to immortalize the beloved fire captain, 9-1-1 should rename the central fire station after Robert Wade Nash, giving the fallen fire captain a ceremonial plaque for his service.

Peter Krause's departure from 9-1-1 has already changed the series forever, but one character's return could help compensate for the absence of Bobby.
Plus, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility in the real world. There have been multiple cases of stations, roads, and statues named after fallen first responders. Bobby was a true pillar of the community throughout the bizarre, perilous events of 9-1-1. While mainly ceremonial in nature, turning station 118 into Bobby’s legacy would be a fitting homage.
Why Renaming 118's Fire Station To Bobby May Not Happen
The Captain's Time May Have Passed Too Soon

Unfortunately, while it would be the perfect end to Bobby’s final storyline, 9-1-1 season 9 will likely breeze past the fallen fire captain as quickly as possible. The procedural has already failed to address the harsh truths surrounding the twist death, like Bobby’s suicidal past in 9-1-1. The lingering controversy surrounding Bobby’s untimely demise only makes satisfying resolution less probable.
