9-1-1 star Oliver Stark is opening up for the first time about Peter Krause’s emotional departure — and his words are brutally honest.

In a recent interview, Stark, who plays Buck on the hit series, admitted that losing Bobby Nash — the heart and soul of Station 118 — was not just a storyline twist, but a real-life emotional shock for the entire cast.

It felt like a gut punch,” Stark shared. “Peter is more than just a co-star. He’s our captain — on and off screen.”

Fans of 9-1-1 were devastated when Krause’s character was killed off in Season 8, and according to Stark, the cast felt that heartbreak just as deeply. He explained how Peter brought calm and focus to chaotic filming days and had a hand in shaping many of the show’s most powerful moments.

While he understands the creative decision behind Bobby’s death, Stark didn’t shy away from saying he misses the energy Peter brought. “He led by example. And now we’re all trying to fill that void in different ways.”

Stark also teased that Buck’s own grief arc in the show is heavily inspired by real-life emotion. “You’ll see it in my performance,” he added. “That loss? It’s real.”

With the Season 8 finale looming and a new era beginning for Station 118, it’s clear that no one — not even the actors — were ready to say goodbye to Bobby.
