The Florida Panthers are celebrating their maiden Stanley Cup during their home opener, and in a fun first period, we saw a fun, spirited fight.
The first period between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers has been spirited, and with the scores deadlocked at 0-0, the physicality came out. After some back and forth action, it was AJ Greer and Mark Kastelic that dropped the gloves, with new additions to both teams looking to make their mark early for their new squads.
While it wasn't the best or most brutal fight we've ever seen, it's a great way to welcome hockey back for the 2024/25 season, with both men landing great shots before Greer would eventually take Kastelic to the ice. The Panthers would follow this up by netting two early goals to establish their dominant in the first period, but with the heated Atlantic Division rivalry following up the Stanley Cup Playoffs, it's safe to say that this won't be the last we see of this type of play.
