The 29-year-old goalie is off to a rough start this season, with a save percentage of 0.836 and a goals-against average of 5.47, which has led to his temporary replacement by Alex Nedeljkovic and even the young Joel Blomqvist.

If Jarry cannot regain his form, the Penguins might consider a trade, and the Canadiens could be interested in him to boost competition for the goaltender position, especially as the price would likely not be very high.

The Habs could be looking to strengthen their goaltending options and might see Jarry as a potential candidate to add depth in that position, particularly if Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau struggle to establish themselves as long-term solutions.

Jarry's career performances show that he is capable of playing at a high level, but his recent struggles cast doubt on his ability to maintain that level consistently.

Based on a larger sample size, it seems clear that Tristan Jarry is a better goaltender than Cayden Primeau, or at least more established, as he has proven he can be one of the best goaltenders in the entire NHL.

For Montreal, acquiring Jarry would not be without risks, though. His consistency issues are factors to consider before committing to a trade.

If he can regain confidence, Jarry could be a valuable asset to reinforce the Canadiens' goaltending group.
