Aaron Rodgers' tenure with the New York Jets has started off poorly. The 41-year-old missed nearly the entire 2023 season due to an Achilles injury, and this season, the team finished with a record of 5-12.
Additionally, Rodgers did not have an impressive season. He completed 63% of his passes, the fourth-lowest percentage of his career since becoming a starter. He threw for 3,897 yards, recording 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, just the fourth time that he's been picked off 10-plus times in a season.
The Jets' offense faced significant challenges last season. They ranked 24th in total yards, 16th in passing yards and 31st in rushing yards. Rodgers has a promising young receiver in Garrett Wilson, but the rest of the receiving options are uncertain. Although Davante Adams reunited with Rodgers during the season, he has the option to opt out of his contract and become a free agent this offseason.
The Jets might seek assistance in the 2025 NFL Draft, and according to CBS Sports' latest mock draft, help is on the way.
CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson has the Jets taking Arizona Wildcats star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the seventh pick in the draft.
"Tetairoa McMillan is 6-foot-5, but he moves like a shifty slot receiver with the benefit of an enormous catch radius and the ability to make contest catches look easy," Wilson wrote. "Think Drake London, but a better athlete."
McMillan had an outstanding season this year, finishing with 84 catches, 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns. If the Jets are indeed acquiring a better version of London, as Wilson claims, that would be a significant acquisition. London has been impressive, accumulating 3,042 yards and 15 touchdowns over his three seasons.
McMillan could also be the perfect complement to Wilson, who stands six feet tall and can play multiple receiver positions in the offense. It could create an elite wide receiver trio if they can convince Adams not to opt out, or to re-sign if he does.
The NFL draft begins on April 24.
