Aaron Rodgers drops hint he won't join this 49ers opponent for 2025

While the San Francisco 49ers have historically owned veteran free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs, he does have the bragging right of handling his boyhood squad during the regular season.

Would free agent QB Aaron Rodgers sign with the New Orleans Saints?

A 6-4 regular-season record against the Niners to date suggests the Niners may be modestly interested in where Rodgers ultimately signs this season.

Or, if he signs at all. The embattled signal-caller is 41 years old, after all.

That said, one opponent which San Francisco plays this season is pretty much out of the picture.

Aaron Rodgers jokes he won't sign with Bears in 2025

Rodgers was in attendance of a Mike Stud concert in Austin, Texas, last Friday when he was asked by a young fan if he'd potentially consider joining one of his longtime rivals, the Chicago Bears.

The veteran appeared to get the humor and quickly shot down the idea of heading to the Windy City, as shared by ESPN's Adam Schefter:

“"No," Rodgers responded. "But I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year on a road trip. I love Chicago, though. Way more than they love me."

The 49ers host the Bears in Week 17, so it sounds like a Chicago uniform-donning Rodgers won't be making his way to Levi's Stadium toward the end of the regular season.

Of note, the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Bears this season, and the Steelers have been linked as a potential Rodgers landing spot for some time now.

The Niners don't exactly care about that, however, although it'd be humorous to think about the quarterback showing up to the Bay Area wearing one of his biggest rival's jerseys.
