Aaron Rodgers Reveals Major Message To Jets On Future

The New York Jets will enter their offseason with a host of key decisions to be made regarding the head coach and general manager positions.

However, what Aaron Rodgers does regarding his future playing is also a hot topic of discussion, and it isn't known if Rodgers wants to return or even if the Jets want him to.

After such a failed season that saw the Jets, who were thought to be a Super Bowl contender, only win five games, some have questioned whether a reset is needed, and of course, that will be without Rodgers.

However, the four-time MVP winner has given insight into the conversations he and the Jets organization have had over his future when on the Pat McAfee Show.

"I told them I'm going to take some time," Rodgers said in a major message. "They haven't even made a decision on a GM or a head coach yet. Once that happens, it will take us to the next step which is a conversation with I'm assuming whomever that individual is. But this is a time where I'm taking time for my body and my mind to clear things.”

It is clear that Rodgers' future will not be decided until a new head coach and general manager are signed. Then, conversations can take place regarding where No. 8 fits into the picture, if at all.

Until then, Rodgers will take time to think about his playing future, something he's done for the past couple of seasons, and after a poor year by his standards, maybe the fire to come back and prove a lot of people wrong is burning bright.

Or he may just choose to ride off into the sunset.
