He grew up close to Cincinnati.
CINCINNATI — Hamilton, Ohio, native and Steelers rookie running back Kaleb Johnson has the Bengals game in Week 7 this season circled on his calendar.
He told Kay Adams that Cincinnati is the team he wants to beat most on a recent episode of Up & Adams.
"My main opponent that I want to beat is Cincinnati," Johnson said this week. "That's where I'm from. ... On the field, they are the enemies, they are the opponents."
Johnson played his high school ball at Hamilton High School, located about an hour north of Cincinnati, and went on to star at the University of Iowa.
He has the inside track on a backup role with the Steelers to mix in with Kenneth Gainwell and Jaylen Warren this coming season. Cincinnati takes on Pittsburgh at home during Thursday Night Football on Oct. 16.
