Lucas follows Carly back to her office, asking since when she walks away from him in the middle of a fight. Carly didn’t want to make a public scene, given she owns this hotel.
Lucas admits he went too far bringing up Morgan, but he was trying to make the point that her loyalty to Sonny has brought her nothing but grief. Carly argues he’s the father of her kids. Plus, Sidwell almost killed Kristina in that fire, and he put a target on his own son. Lucas says what Sidwell did was wrong, but so is what Sonny did, and he won’t excuse his actions.
Lucas says for years he towed her line and defended Sonny, even when the blood on his hands was his own father’s. Carly reminds him that Julian attacked Sonny first, but Lucas says they only have Sonny’s version of events. Carly points out that Sonny could have killed Marco, but he didn’t for them. Lucas says it is insane that she thinks he should be grateful that Sonny didn’t kill Marco, and the fact that she can’t see that is proof she’s been living in Sonny’s world way too long. He storms out.
Sonny Makes Marco a Promise
In Marco’s room, Sonny tells him that his problem is not with him, and he has his word, he won’t be touched as long as he stays out of his father’s business. Marco says that’s impossible as he’s his lawyer. Sonny says he should only represent his legitimate business holdings, and it would be best if he went back to Miami.
Marco refuses to move back to Miami, so Sonny says he’s putting himself at risk. Sonny says they’ll have to find a way to peacefully coexist. Sonny says everyone thinks he’s responsible for his mother’s death, and asks if Marco is one of them.
Marco admits he did blame Sonny at first, but now that the shock has worn off, he knows the situation was a lot more complex. He knows his mom was under pressure, and she dealt with it as she usually did, by drinking. He believes she mixed pills and booze, but didn’t plan to kill herself. Sonny agrees, as Natalia was a strong woman, and he owed her a lot. One of the last things she said to him was that she loved Marco and regretted the fact that they were estranged from each other. Marco feels the same, and now they can never rectify that.
Lucas shows up and is not pleased to find Sonny there. Sonny goes to leave them and says he doesn’t want trouble with Lucas. Lucas warns him that if he touches Marco again, he’ll go to the police.
Sonny leaves, and Lucas feels that Sonny came here to intimidate Marco, and he needs to tell the cops and add this to his statement. Marco admits he didn’t tell the cops anything about what Sonny did.
Marco explains it’s worth it to him to keep quiet to keep them out of Sonny and his father’s issues. Lucas says this is his call, and Marco thanks him. Marco says he needs to get some rest, and Lucas says he has something to attend to anyway.
Carly’s Being Driven Crazy
Sonny goes to Carly’s office and tells her that her brother has lost it over Marco. Carly says she just had it out with him, too. She thinks Lucas will calm down now that Marco is fine. Carly says her loyalty to him is what has Lucas so angry, and both he and Lucas are driving her crazy.
Sonny doesn’t want to come between them. Carly knows that, but suddenly her brother sees everything in black and white. Sonny notes Lucas has it bad for Marco. Perhaps he should just lie low and stay away from her, but she says Lucas needs to understand that he’s a part of her life.
What Has Kristina So Concerned?
At the pool, Kristina runs into Cody and wonders if he’s here to see Ava. He explains that Ava’s at Drew and Willow’s wedding, which Kristina fears means she’s with Ric. Cody doubts it, as they had a big blowout at the art exhibit. Cody believes he’ll soon be able to seduce her away from the lawyer.
Michael appears, so Kristina heads to talk with him. She got his text and asks what is up? He tells her that Drew and Willow’s wedding is today.
They grab a table, and Kristina feels bad for Willow. Once she comes out of this delusion, she’ll realize what a great guy she lost in her brother.
Cody grabs a chair next to Molly, who is reading a book and covered from head to toe in clothes to avoid the sun. He jokes that she looks like she’s suffocating. She says you can never be too careful when it comes to the sun. He says heat stroke is a thing too, so she takes off her linen top, revealing a bikini. He was expecting an old-time bathing suit, and Molly jokes she’s managed to surprise him.
Molly lathers 100 SPF sunscreen on herself and suggests Cody use some to avoid skin cancer. He accepts her offer, since now he won’t think about anything but skin cancer. He asks her to get his back, so she applies sunscreen to him.
From across the pool, Kristina spots Molly putting sunscreen on Cody. Michael notes it looks like something is going on, which is exactly what Kristina is afraid of. She asks Michael to strike up a conversation with Cody and get him away from Molly so she can talk to her sister alone.
Michael approaches Cody and Molly and asks if he can talk to Cody for a second. He pulls Cody away, and Kristina moves in to join Molly and asks what she’s doing with Cody. She thought her sister wasn’t interested in Cody. Molly says she’s not, so Kristina asks, “Does Cody know that?” She suggests Molly is giving Cody a different impression with that sunscreen business.
Kristina says Cody has a reputation, and notes he has a habit of seducing rich, beautiful women, and perhaps he’s looking for a payday from her. Molly says she’s a civil servant, and Cody’s never asked anything from her. Kristina thinks it’s best that they stay friends, as there is nothing worse than getting close to someone who has an agenda.
Kristina says Cody asking her to put sunscreen on his back is a sleezy move, but Molly admits she was lecturing him on skin cancer. Kristina says she just doesn’t want to see her get hurt.
Lucy Invites Sidwell to a Wedding
Lucy drops by Wyndemere to check on Sidwell. She says she’s officiating at Drew and Willow’s wedding, and was hoping he’d go with her, seeing he was invited as well.
Sidwell appreciates the offer, but he declined the congressman’s invite. He also says things have been a little tense between him and Sonny. Lucy notes that Sonny isn’t attending the wedding, but Sidwell says he’s decided to step away from politics, Measure C, and his ties to Drew. He’s doing this for his son, and he doesn’t want him drawn into his conflict with Sonny.
Lucy notes the time and realizes she has to go. She asks him one last time to join her, but he thinks it is best that he doesn’t in the name of peaceful coexistence.
Will There Be a Wedding?
Kai and Drew arrive at the church, and Liz tells Drew that everything is on time with Maxie’s schedule. Drew says everything looks amazing.
Alexis brings Scout in, and she tells her dad that Willow looks like a princess in her dress. Drew says that makes him the prince, and they’re all about to live happily ever after.
Obrecht approaches Drew, who is glad she could come. Obrecht cuts to the chase and doesn’t approve of his stealing the naïve Willow from his own nephew, and his hero status has been a bit tarnished.
Liz quickly grabs her and drags her off for upsetting Drew. Obrecht says the words flowed out of her mouth before she could stop them. Liz knows she doesn’t approve, but doesn’t think anything will stop this wedding.
Ric arrives and tells Liz she looks lovely. Liz wasn’t expecting to see him here. He says he was invited, though he thinks Willow and Drew probably just wanted people to fill the pews, as they aren’t exactly the most popular couple. Ric hopes they can share a dance at the reception, insisting it will be only as friends.
Ava spots Ric flirting with Liz, and Obrecht notes she looks like she just drank sour milk. Ava comments that men are idiots, and Obrecht says if it helps, there is an open bar at the reception. Ava jokes it does help.
Ric finds Ava lighting a candle, and notes he hasn’t seen her since their tiff at the gallery. She says, “You mean the night you were fawning over Elizabeth like a lovesick school boy?” She says based on what she just saw, the fawning continues. He claims he just ran into Liz. Ava says the lord might smite him for lying in his house.
Ava then takes Alexis aside for a word, and in the vestibule, asks to meet at the lawyer’s office next week, just the two of them.
Willow Lays Blame
Nina heads to the bridal room to see Willow. Willow angrily asks if she and Drew had an affair. Did she sleep with her fiancé? Nina cries that she did. Willow can’t believe her mother would do this to her. Nina explains that when they first got together, she had no idea they were attracted to one another. She says it began last April and continued through August. Willow realizes the entire time she was falling in love with Drew that he was sleeping with her mom.
Willow asks how she could betray her like this. Nina admits she should have told her, but she was afraid. Their relationship was so rocky back then, and all she wanted was to be a mother. If she had told her, she would have slammed the door shut on their relationship.
Willow calls her a coward and asks why she kept sleeping with Drew. Was she in love with him? Nina insists she hated him, and she still does. She convinced herself she could help save Willow’s marriage if she could lure Drew away from her.
Willow laughs at the idea that Nina thought she was doing her a favor. Nina says she made a mistake. When she realized how important Drew was to her, she stopped it. But by then, it was way too late to tell her. Willow says so instead she let her fall deeper in love with Drew, and she watched her throw her marriage and children away for a man who was lying to her.
Nina tells her that she urged her to stay away from Drew, to work on her marriage. She told her not to move in with Drew, and warned her over and over again that she wasn’t in a healthy relationship. Willow snaps, “All things considered, you undersold that!” Nina tells her to acknowledge that it got to the point that if she said one bad thing about Drew that she would jump all over her. She did everything to get her away from Drew. Willow says everything but one, and if she had told her the truth, she would have left him in a heartbeat. She would still have her children.
Nina cries that she was afraid that if she told her the truth, she’d lose her child. Willow calls her selfish and asks what kind of mother she is. Nina swears she will do whatever she can to make things right. Willow asks how? She didn’t just lie to her; she betrayed her trust. By keeping the truth about Drew, she helped her lose custody of her children. Willow says she’ll never forgive her for that.
Nina knows she messed up, and she has every right to be furious with her. She begs her not to shut her out, as she loves her. Willow says she went against her instincts to let her back into her life, and she thought they had come so far. Nina says they have, and this past year has meant everything to her. Willow cries that their relationship wasn’t real, it was based on lies. She could have saved herself from all the heartbreak of the past few months if Nina had told her the truth.
Nina swears she was coming here to tell her the truth, but Willow says it’s too late and the damage is done because of her silence. She has already lost everything! Willow has burned every bridge and sacrificed everything for a man who has been lying to her for their entire relationship, and he’s all she has left.
Nina reminds her that she has her. Willow says, “Sorry, Nina, I needed you to be a mother to me when I needed one, but you couldn’t. You weren’t cut out to be a mother, maybe because your own mother was a nightmare, and you don’t have a maternal bone in your body!” She says she envies Nelle, who died never knowing Nina was her mother, and she wishes she were that lucky. Willow orders Nina out, slamming the door in her face.
An emotionless look comes over Willow’s face as she looks in the mirror. She begins to think back over her relationship with Drew, and his promise that he won’t let her lose her kids. She recalls Martin’s argument that marrying Drew will look good to the judge. Willow recalls agreeing to marry Drew, as nothing was more important to her than her kids.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Everyone begins to take their seats in the chapel as Lucy arrives. Nina rushes to Obrecht in tears and says she has to get out of here, and asks her to come with her. Obrecht says the wedding is about to start, but Nina says there won’t be a wedding. Liz announces the bride is ready, and Obrecht says Nina must be mistaken.
At the pool, Kristina thanks Michael for his help. He asks why she’s trying to come between Molly and Cody.
Cody brings drinks over to Molly as a thanks for putting sunscreen on his back. He jokes they may have missed a spot, and asks if she’d mind finishing it up so he doesn’t have an uneven tan. Molly seems suspicious.
Marco drops by Wyndemere to see his father. Sidwell is sorry he got drawn into his war with Sonny, as he knows he wanted to stay out of it. Marco says, “Not anymore, I’m all in now. Whatever it takes, Sonny needs to go.” They embrace.
In her office, Sonny tells Carly he doesn’t want to cause problems for her and Lucas. She thinks the dust will settle soon. Lucas appears, hands his key to his sister, and says he’s moving out.
Back at the church, the wedding march begins, and Scout walks down the aisle as the flower girl. Nina knows she shouldn’t be here, but Obrecht says it’s already begun, and she’s the mother of the bride.
Drew tells his daughter she was perfect, and gives her a hug and a kiss. Scout sits with Alexis, and everyone rises for the bride. They stare at the doors, which open, and in walks Willow, in her wedding gown, looking like a zombie.
On the next General Hospital, The wedding continues and Lucy asks, “Speak now or forever hold your peace.”
