Ahead of this week’s premiere, three new clips from the first two episodes of the third season of Strange New Worlds have been released. The clips can be found via Trek Movie’s YouTube page.
The Season Begins with the Thrilling Conclusion to the S2 Finale
At the end of Season 2, fans were left wondering what would happen to Captain Batel (Melanie Scrofano). The Captain had been infected by the Gorn on Pernassus Beta. Additionally, some of the crew members were taken by the Gorn before they could be transported back to the Enterprise. Season 2 picks up with the conclusion of the finale, with an episode titled “Hegemony, Part II,” as Captain Pike tries to rescue his kidnapped crew.
In one new clip, Captain Pike is faced with making tough decisions as the Enterprise faces an attack from the Gorn. The second clip, also from the Season 3 premiere, features Pelia (Carol Kane) and Scotty (Martin Quinn) as they work together to try to protect the ship. In another clip, from the second episode of the third season, titled “Wedding Bell Blues,” Spock (Ethan Peck) is taken aback after Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush) brings back an unexpected visitor with her to the Enterprise. All three clips can be viewed below.

Scotty Actor on How He’s Approaching the Role
It should be interesting to see how the season progresses with new cast members like Martin Quinn’s Scotty, as he plays a younger version of the seasoned engineer originated by actor James Doohan in Star Trek. Quinn is the only Scottish actor to play the character, as the late Doohan was Canadian, and Simon Pegg, who played Scotty in the Kelvin Timeline movies, is English.
Quinn recently opened up about playing the storied engineer in a new interview with Trek Movie. He said that his version of Scotty has a “lot of learning” to do before he becomes the well-loved engineer from the original series.
