Alex Cora Talks When Walker Buehler Could Return

The Boston Red Sox are no strangers to having to go through injuries, but it puts the team in tough positions. Boston might be back at full health soon with their starting pitchers.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora was speaking to the media earlier on Monday and said that pitcher Walker Buehler could be back in the lineup when the team takes on the New York Mets in a three-game home series beginning next week.
Buehler has been dealing with right shoulder inflammation and has been on the 15-day IL for most of May. The team has been running tests on him since the injury and is likely looking to take it easy on him when he returns.
He has been one of the more productive starting pitchers in his first season with the Red Sox. In 33.2 innings and six games played and started for the Red Sox, Buehler has accounted for a season ERA of 4.28. He has allowed 32 hits,16 runs (five being home runs) and nine walks while delivering 29 strikeouts.
The last time Buehler took the mound for the Red Sox, he allowed seven hits, three runs (one being a home run) and one walk while delivering three strikeouts in the 7-3 road win over the Cleveland Guardians on Apr. 26.
It was there that Buehler was dealing with shoulder inflammation.
The Red Sox will look to get Buehler back to 100% by the time they take on the Mets, who currently have the second-best overall record in the league.
