We're down to 49 days until the New Orleans Saints kick off their 2025 regular season opener, which means this 49-yard walk-off touchdown run by Alvin Kamara is our pick for the Saints Play of the Day. Kamara had a big day against the New York Giants back in 2018, scoring three rushing touchdowns while gaining 181 yards from scrimmage. But he called game to hand the Giants a loss with a late touchdown run from halfway across the field. You can see it for yourself right here.
The Saints were guarding a tight 8-point lead with 2:16 left in regulation; they weren't in position to run out the clock just yet, and the Giants could rally back to tie it up and force overtime. But Kamara wasn't about to let that happen. He took the handoff at midfield, found a crease in the New York secondary thanks to some key blocking from fullback Zach Line and tight end Josh Hill, and was gone. Free safety Curtis Riley tried to stop him but took a stiff arm to the face for his trouble. Three more Giants closed in, but they were too late to keep Kamara from running into the end zone.
But he didn't stop there. Kamara kept running through the back of the end zone and into the MetLife Stadium tunnel with wide receiver Michael Thomas right beside him. The pair of playmakers descended into the arena, away from fans and the opposing team, sending a clear message: that's all, folks.
