Alvin Kamara takes subtle shot at Saints front office after reveal during 'Hard Knocks'

The New Orleans Saints and Alvin Kamara continue to work on a new contract for the stay running back. He's approaching 29 years old. His play is still impressive, but his production has taken a step back.

The running back sent a strong message to the Saints on X/Twitter on Wednesday.

Kamara takes subtle shot at Saints on social media

Kamara is clearly frustrated with his contract situation with New Orleans. It's fair to say he feels a bit disrespected regarding his talent and impact for the Saints.

His post stems from a video of the New York Giants front office discussing their intentions (or their lack of) to extend star RB Saquon Barkley. Their conversation was just business, but it could come off as a bit disrespectful to the player.

Of course, the running back position has been in the limelight in recent years due to their lack of long-term contracts. They are not getting new deals as they near thirty years old often at all, outside of Christian McCaffrey. Now, Kamara is seemingly thinking he will be the next to get the short end of the stick.

Kamara left the Saints' final minicamp practice early due to contract-related reasons

His agent confirmed that the absence was due to his contract. He's entering the final playing year of his current deal.

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler recently noted what Kamara is looking for in a new contract from New Orleans.

"I'm told Kamara is open to doing a reworked two-year deal, strengthen his guarantees in year one. They've talked about it. So far, not a lot of momentum. We'll see if something shakes out. He could be a threat to miss training camp if they don't get something done before late July." -- Jeremy Fowler via Sportscenter

Clearly, he has a view on what he wants going forward from the Saints. We will see if both sides can come to an agreement before the regular season begins.

The Saints are a better offense with Kamara on the field - plain and simple. Fans certainly want to see the star running back under new OC Klint Kubiak in 2024.
