Britain's Got Talent viewers saw judge Amanda Holden break a show rule during the final round of auditions on Saturday night

During the final auditions of Britain's Got Talent, judge Amanda Holden confessed she expected to be in hot water. In the latest episode aired on Saturday night, an audience member seized his moment to seek an audition.
He called out to Simon Cowell, pleading: "19 years I've tried to get in front of you, and I've never had that chance. Can you give me one opportunity? I can show you what I've got."
With some initial doubt about the sincerity of the request, Simon invited the man to the stage, questioning if it was a 'wind up'. The man, introducing himself as local singer Max Fox, assured it was genuine.
The panel, including KSI, appeared taken aback by the situation, with KSI remarking: "I've never seen this before!" Moved by Max's determination, Simon decided to let him have his audition.
The unexpected turn of events seemed to catch the production team unprepared as they scrambled to verify Max's identity, prepare a backing track, and schedule him to perform last.
Max interrupted the show to beg the panel for an audition (Image: (Image: ITV)) When Max finally stepped into the spotlight, he shared his long-standing ambition to perform for Simon Cowell, saying: "I've been in Manchester in the football stadiums where you hold your big auditions and I've never been able to!"
Grateful for his proximity to the judges, he added: "Luckily, I was 10ft away from you sat here, I don't know how I managed to get that seat and I just thought it was worth a chance to ask you."
Max reaffirmed to Simon that his performance was genuine, before delivering a heartfelt rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way. As he finished, the audience cheered and chanted for him to receive the Golden Buzzer.

Without hesitation, Amanda pressed the golden buzzer, her hands flying to her mouth as she exclaimed: "Sorry, sorry, sorry!"
She later clarified that she'd done it for the audience's sake, before giving Max a warm hug.
Upon returning to her seat, Amanda confessed: "I'm just going to say, I've already pressed my golden buzzer, so I'm in a lot of trouble because that's my second golden buzzer!"

Max beamed: "I just can't believe it! It's the greatest day of my life."
As the competition progresses, next weekend marks the beginning of the live semi-finals. In a departure from previous seasons, these will unfold over five weeks, starting on April 26.
Additionally, the Golden Buzzer feature won't appear in the semi-finals, in a change to the show's format. The revamp was announced on Good Morning Britain by entertainment reporter Richard Arnold, who revealed: "This year, one judge or Ant and Dec will be allowed to use the golden buzzer in the semi-finals as well. It'll give their chosen act a spot in the grand finale in May. The other acts will then face the public vote as usual."
