It’s another day and another meltdown for the disgruntled former Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star, Amber Portwood.
After trading barbs via TikTok earlier this month, Ashley Jones and Amber Portwood got on live together to fight it out in real-time. During an epic tantrum, Amber Portwood made a pretty wild claim about her earnings. The mother of two alleges she’s earned $30 million during her career. The claim, oddly enough, comes just days after she said she couldn’t afford to move to California to be close to her school-aged son.
Amber Portwood attempted to assert her dominance on TikTok this week by claiming she’s a millionaire many times over. The mother of two claims to have earned $30 million during the course of her career. The remark was made during a TikTok Live featuring Portwood and Ashley Jones, a former co-star, verbally sparring.
While it’s hard to calculate precisely how much Potwood may have earned during her career, she did spend a fair number of years on Teen Mom. Potwood began her reality TV career in 2009 with the birth of her daughter, Leah Shirley. She’s been on reality TV for the last 16 years, save for a couple of stints in jail. Could she have earned $30 million? Probably not, but she likely made a few million from her involvement.
Amber Portwood’s claim about her earnings might have been intended to put Ashley Jones down, but all she managed to do was make critics question her more. The assertion came just days after she said she could never move to California to be closer to her son because she was too broke to afford property even in the “slums” of Los Angeles.
Critics are trying to decipher precisely what Portwood is lying about. If Portwood has earned $30 million over the years, she should certainly have enough money to purchase property in California. Technically, she might even be able to afford property in the ritzy enclave that her ex, who is from a wealthy family, calls home.
Both of Portwood’s statements are likely to be lies. It is unlikely that she has earned $30 million in her career. It is also unlikely that she truly can’t afford to live in California. Critics believe it’s more likely that she’s uninterested in living in the Golden State, regardless of her son’s residency status.
Amber Portwood spends her days absolutely unraveling on TikTok from her Indiana home, despite her allegedly high earning potential. Her youngest child is being raised by his father on the West Coast. While things were dicey with Portwood and her ex-fiance, Andrew Glennon, for many months following her attack on him, they have apparently figured out a co-parenting rhythm that works for them both. At least, that’s what Glennon claimed during a rare statement. Back in December, Glennon told Us Weekly that his communication with Portwood had dramatically improved.
That was six months ago, and, as anyone familiar with Portwood’s antics may know, things are always subject to change. At least, Reddit fans think trouble could be brewing after a fan spotted Glennon at a California courthouse. It was unclear precisely what he was doing. Still, some critics wonder if it has anything to do with Portwood’s recent meltdowns.
