John Foster is already on to the next thing after his time on American Idol season 23. The 18-year-old, who remained a fan favorite throughout the show but ultimately finished the show as runner-up to winner Jamal Roberts, is still giving viewers the music they want.
On June 1, John took to his Instagram account to post his very first music video since his time on the show.
“I thought it fitting that my first Post-Idol music video be ‘Amazing Grace’, because it’s His Grace that’s brought me this far,” John captioned a video he posted to Instagram on June 1. “This is a raw, one-take recording, and every lyric, including the Cajun French chorus, is a thank you to God. Thank you, Fable House for capturing this moment.”

Fans of the show immediately rushed to the comments to share their excitement over his unique spin on the classic gospel song.
“I always cry when I hear that song. Beautifully done,” one fan commented. “I can't wait to see you playing stadiums," another person added. “One of my favorite songs, and you just blew this out of the water! Thank you for this!!!” a third person wrote.
As fans know, this isn't the first time John's given us a peak into his post-Idol life. Just last month, he shared his plans to make an appearance at the Cajun Country Jam at Pards North Park in Denham Springs, Louisiana over Memorial Day weekend. "I’m so happy to be back on the stage THIS WEEKEND at the Cajun Country Jam!," he shared at the time. Later adding, "This is just the beginning!"
We certainly hope John continues to update us with all he's up to, especially if it means more music and more appearances are on the way. Fingers crossed!
