The New York Jets secondary has a second addition to it early on in 2025 NFL free agency.
The team has agreed to terms with former Jacksonville Jaguars safety Andre Cisco according to FOX Sports. The deal is reportedly a team-friendly, one-year deal worth $10 million:
Cisco's one-year contract is reflective of a poor season he had in 2024.
Cisco, 24, appeared in 16 games with 14 starts for the Jaguars last year, recording seven passes defended and an interception along with 68 tackles including one for loss. For is efforts, Pro Football Focus only graded him the 70th best safety in the NFL with a 58.8 overall mark.
However, Cisco has other positive seasons under his belt which New York head coach Aaron Glenn is probably looking more into. The defensive back had four interceptions in 2023 alone.
The Jets entered the spring low on numbers at the safety position, so a signing was not a surprise. Cisco should see a good opportunity to land a starting position in New York because of that.
Cisco agreeing to terms comes after cornerback Brandon Stephens was added earlier on during the first day of free agency.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 offseason.
