Andy Cohen accused Carole Radziwill of being the anonymous Housewife who shaded him in a recent profile for New York Magazine. He also clarified a quote from his friend Anderson Cooper, who said Andy is “paddling” under the water. It was suggested that the quote meant Andy was trying hard to maintain his career amid recent allegations from former Bravo stars.
In the profile for New York Magazine, an unnamed Real Housewives of New York alum gave a quote claiming the show stopped being about funny arguments – and had turned into an environment where castmates are doing research, making up false stories, and trying to get co-stars fired. She also claimed everyone metaphorically dances for Andy to try to please him.
On his Andy Cohen Live show on SiriusXM, Andy was asked about the anonymous quote.
“I know exactly [who it is]. It’s Carole Radziwill,” he stated. “Like no question … It’s like the one mean quote in there, and it’s the only anonymous quote. It’s – there are 18 reasons why it’s Carole.”
“But it was so weird,” he went on. “Carole has said a lot of unkind things about me … that she’s tweeted and been quoted about. So I was like, ‘Why are you going off the record here?’ … I didn’t understand. Why not just put your name to it?”
He said the quote was from a “former New York Housewife who was fired or something … We haven’t fired that many New York Housewives. Like it’s very obvious. Anyway, thanks for the quote, Radz! I’ll run into you soon. We have a lot to catch up on.”
Moments ago, Carole took to her Twitter page where she responded to Andy and didn’t deny she was indeed the anymous housewife quoted in the story.
Carole wrote, “Hey Carole here🙋🏼♀️Someone can make a truthful observation &there’s always one short-ish dude waiting to be offended. At this point why would any normal person use their name? They’re all so vindictive which I believe is the point of the quote& confirmed by Andy’s nasty response.🙈.”
Andy also clarified Anderson’s quote about him “paddling.”
“He basically said something like I generate more content that gets reported on, and that when he picks up his phone, a lot of the content that he sees has been generated somehow by Bravo or me or Watch What Happens Live or Radio Andy, and he said something like, ‘He makes it look easy, but he’s actually paddling to do that,'” said Andy.
“Page Six took that quote to say that I’m furiously paddling to save my career in the midst of everything going on,” added Andy, who claimed he told a Page Six reporter that the outlet “totally misconstrue[d]” Anderson’s quote.
“I [told her], ‘I don’t feel good that that article did well for you. Congratulations,'” he recalled.
