Following the unprecedented news on Saturday, which came just days after it was revealed that the season had hit a ratings low amid the ongoing estrangement between Teresa Giudice, 51, and Melissa Gorga, 45, Andy offered some context to the announcement.

“I feel like there are a lot of theories about what this could mean. I think that the main thing is this will all make sense once you see the finale,” Andy, 55, began on the June 3 episode of SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with Kiki Monique.

As RHONJ fans may have heard, the cast was involved in an alleged blow-out fight during the finale taping that left many friendships fractured.

“It is one of those classic Jersey finales that people will be talking about for a long time to come,” Andy teased.

According to Andy, he and his fellow producers met after the taping. And after watching the final cut of the last episode of season 14, they came together for a discussion about the show’s future.

“We all had the same thought, which is the finale is kind of the finale and the reunion all in one,” he explained. “It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales, and they have this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like the Last Supper and is just so Jersey. And it’s shocking and it’s dramatic and it’s amazing TV. I’m telling you, when you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete. I really do."

In addition to vowing that the finale will suffice, Andy said that Bravo is cooking up something to replace the reunion that will be announced soon.

“This season, it is really catching fire. There’s stuff happening with everyone,” he noted.

Also on the radio show, Andy seemed to allude to a potential leak from a cast member regarding the canceled reunion.

“The reason that you guys heard about it … If you think about the timing of when we tape reunions, typically we tape them about six weeks before the end of the season, which means that we would’ve been taping this one in a couple weeks, which means you have to let the cast know, okay, what date are we taping it and what kind of clothes and whatever. We were letting the cast know. And of course, it leaked as things do,” he stated.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 14 airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
