Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is right around the corner, but fans are still trying to figure out what in the world is going on with Kenya Moore. When the season started filming, she was confirmed as a full-time cast member. However, her revenge porn scandal with Brittany Eady put her future on the show in limbo. The situation has created so many questions for fans, but there’s only one person with the answers. That’s Andy Cohen.
Kenya Moore is in a “supporting role” on RHOA Season 16, says Andy Cohen
We’ve been waiting over a year for the network to roll out this reboot, and Andy promised that it would be worth the wait. During a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, the man himself gushed over how excited he is about the new season of RHOA.
“It looks fresh. It looks dynamic,” Andy said of the updated Season 16 graphics. “It’s a new play on the theme song. We’re entering the season as Porsha [Williams] is in the middle of a whole lot of personal drama.”
He continued, “We bring in four new Housewives. We do have Porsha returning. We’ve got Drew [Sidora] returning. In supporting roles are Cynthia [Bailey] and Kenya.”
Andy said this as if it were common knowledge, but this information was news to us! Previously, Kenya was confirmed to be a peach-holding Housewife. However, when the cast photos dropped and Kenya was nowhere to be found, we knew something was amiss. Now we know for sure that the revenge porn scandal caused Kenya to get demoted.
With that said, Kenya fans aren’t totally out of luck with RHOA Season 16. Andy said that you can expect to see her in the first six episodes. Then, Phaedra Parks will join the cast to round things out.
When does RHOA come back on?
Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) returns with the Season 16 premiere on Sunday, March 9, airing at 8/7c on Bravo. As Andy said, the full cast features returning Housewives Porsha and Drew. Then, we’re getting a slew of newbies with Brittany, Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley.
The fourth new Housewife that Andy mentioned is Shamea Morton Mwangi. Technically, she’s not a newbie because we’ve seen her on the show for years as Porsha’s bestie, but in RHOA Season 16, she’s taking center stage. In fact, she’s the nucleus that brings this whole group together. So, even though Kenya is sitting in a “supporting role,” there’s still a lot to look forward to when RHOA returns.
