Andy Cohen Shares Major Update on RHONJ's New Season, Says RHONY is "Very Close" to Being Cast & Confirms New Wives, Plus He Says RHORI Women Are "Very Italian"

Andy Cohen offered an update on casting on The Real Housewives of New York City and The Real Housewives of New Jersey while appearing on The View on Tuesday.

As he also gushed over the “very Italian,” “hilarious” women of Bravo’s latest addition to the Real Housewives franchise, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, Andy, 57, suggested that RHONY was almost ready for production on its 16th season and revealed that the upcoming 15th season of RHONJ is currently being cast.

“[RHONY]’s not over. We are between seasons, where we typically do a little casting, which is what’s happening now, and we’re very close,” Andy confirmed on the June 3 episode of The View.

Then, after sharing that there “will be” new cast members, saying, “Absolutely,” Andy moved on to RHONJ, which has been on “pause” for nearly one year.

“We are doing casting with [RHONJ] as well. It was really on a deep pause, and we are actively there, casting, and kind of looking at the future of what that will be,” he stated. “It’s a great franchise and we love it — I just have to reiterate that.”

Also on The View, after being asked about his claim that RHORI would give RHONJ “a run” for its money, Andy walked back.

“Well, listen, [RHONJ] stands alone. Let me just say that. But these are real — you know, I don’t think people realize what a very Italian community Rhode Island is … And you know what? You don’t mess with folks from Rhode-y. You don’t mess with Rhode-y folks,” he explained.

“They are very, we have found a very Italian group and they are hilarious and they’ve got big families. And so I’m really excited to introduce everybody,” he continued.

As for whether there would be any table flipping in Rhode Island, Andy said, “Well, we’ll see. That’s been done.”

No word yet on a premiere date for the debut season of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
