Anne Burrell's death being investigated as a possible drug overdose

Anne Burrell’s death is being investigated by the New York City Police Department as a possible drug overdose, Page Six can confirm.

The news comes after sources exclusively confirmed to The Post that the Food Network star was surrounded by dozens of pills when she was found unresponsive by her husband, Stuart Claxton, on Tuesday morning.

Burrell was pronounced “DOA [dead on arrival]” by first responders on the scene who showed up after Claxton placed a 911 call.

Sources previously told TMZ that Claxton was instructed by 911 dispatch to perform CPR on Claxton’s body, but she was already cold by that point.

The New York City medical examiner’s office alleges that an autopsy for Burrell has been completed, but the results regarding the cause and manner of the “Worst Cooks in America” star’s death are still pending.

Claxton, who wed Burrell in 2021, had last seen his wife alive at around 1 a.m. early Tuesday before discovering her body around 7:50 a.m. in the shower of their Brooklyn, NY, home.
