This is the part of April where fans never know what to believe. The best information is the facts, rather than the rumors of the week when it comes to the NFL Draft. As far as the New Orleans Saints, the roster outlook is a bit cloudy.
New Orleans has a lot of veteran talent, some of which are probably on the down slope their playing career. That being said, they did what they always do when it comes to creating salary cap space this offseason, even restructuring quarterback Derek Carr.
With that, one NFC East scout is questioning their vision, particularly if they draft a QB early in this year's NFL Draft.

"Would you really want to draft a young QB early and bring him into that situation?"

Clearly, that scout has the same beliefs about the Saints that some other analysts have relayed this offseason. They refuse to do a full sort of "reset" - even after hiring a new, first-time head coach in Kellen Moore.
Saints' perception around the NFL
The Saints are hard to predict for the draft, especially this year. They have plenty of needs, but some of them are clearer than others. They made some free agency moves to maximize depth, particularly on defense.
Regardless, their first round plan is one of the most intriguing in the entire league. A quarterback could be in play, or they could add a weapon for Derek Carr's offense. On the flip-side, their pass rush needs to improve at some point in the draft, and their secondary could use another young piece.
From my conversations with sources around the league the past few weeks, the Saints are viewed as a wild card because of all the needs they have. New Orleans has done a lot of extra work on this quarterback class and been a constant presence at pro days, but there's some skepticism on whether it would target a quarterback in Round 1.

All in all, an enigma is the best way to describe New Orleans for this year's draft. Only time will tell how Kellen Moore's team plans to attack it.
