Anthony Richardson reveals how he literally had to crawl around his house due to a lower back issue few days ago

Football is a physical game and at times can lead to painful injuries. Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts is considered to be one of the most physically able and strong quarterbacks in the NFL, however, in Week 17, a back injury plagued him and limited his mobility.

The quarterback’s MRI revealed a disc issue in his back that was triggered in the wrong way. Anthony Richardson was in immense pain, he was unable to stand upright and walk, and the excruciating pain compelled him to crawl around his house.

The quarterback is better now but he revealed his struggles during his recent press conference.

Last week was tough, I couldn’t even stand up on Tuesday. Could barely even walk, you know, crawling around the house. I’m standing now…I could barely move.

Richardson said.

Richardson is no stranger to back issues, he has frequently dealt with them at intervals since eighth grade but it has never been this bad.

Anthony Richardson is hoping to be back in the lineup for Week 18

The quarterback’s mobility was severely impacted but now he is alright and hopes to suit up for the team’s final regular season game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He did not play last week and veteran Joe Flacco filled in for him. Indianapolis went up against the New York Giants, the worst team in the NFL, and lost 45-33.

This year, the Colts have been eliminated from playoff contention but the organization is confident that Anthony Richardson is worthy of being the franchise quarterback. He has had his ups and downs this year.

The team’s season got off to a rocky start with back-to-back losses and Richardson missed a few games in between owing to an injury. He then found himself in the midst of controversy after he left the game in between an offensive drive because he was tired.

He was subsequently benched but shortly after, HC Shane Steichen gave him the starter’s position and he has since played better. Anthony Richardson would need to recover and sort his back issue out in the off-season as he has struggled to stay healthy. The quarterback has immense potential but his first two years in the league have been plagued by injuries.
