Apollo Nida Accused of Cheating and Abuse as Wife Files for Divorce

Real Housewives of Atlanta husband alum, Apollo Nida, is embroiled in another contentious split.

Apollo’s wife, Sherien Copes, has officially filed for divorce, citing serious allegations that paint a rocky picture. The split comes after less than three years of marriage, with claims of infidelity and mistreatment surfacing in court documents.

The couple married in October 2022 but separated in November 2023. Sherien filed for divorce on February 7, describing their marriage as “irretrievably broken” and citing abuse and infidelity.

Sherien claims that Apollo subjected her to “cruel treatment”

Sherien’s filing, obtained by PEOPLE, stated, “The Respondent and I can no longer live together and there is no hope that we will get back together.” She alleged “cruel treatment,” adultery, and desertion by Apollo.

Unshockingly, Sherien says Apollo cheated on her regularly. “The Respondent has had sexual intercourse with someone else during our marriage.”

The filing continued, “Respondent has committed adultery multiple times throughout our relationship. Respondent refused to seek counseling or therapy to address these issues.” Sherien also requested a protective order. She expressed fear of further violence or harassment from Apollo.

In a previous incident in March 2024, repeat ex-con Apollo was arrested and charged with domestic violence and simple battery assault after an alleged altercation with Sherien.

They signed settlement documents on October 18, 2024. They both waived rights to alimony and divided their marital assets. Apollo consented to a restraining order, clarifying that his cooperation was not an admission of misconduct. A court date is scheduled for March.

Apollo was previously married to Phaedra Parks. They share two sons, Ayden and Dylan. He appeared on the Season 10 Married to Medicine reunion to discuss his and Phaedra’s co-parenting journey. Phaedra said they’re making it work, even though his “energy” isn’t allowed in her home.

Their marriage ended following Apollo’s 2014 conviction for conspiracy to commit mail fraud, bank fraud, and identity theft, resulting in an eight-year prison sentence. Apollo and Sherien became engaged while he was still incarcerated in 2016. He was released in 2019 after his eight-year sentence was reduced.

Representatives for Apollo have not yet responded to requests for comment.
