Madix, who partnered with DSW on a new holiday edit, talks all things party dressing with PEOPLE
Ariana Madix his spilling her holiday style secrets.
The Vanderpump Rules star, 39, tells PEOPLE that she's down to try a "little bit of everything" when it comes to festive fashion, but there's one look in particular that she's ready to rock (and in her opinion, it's very underrated).
“I love equestrian style…imagine you're going to the mall to holiday shop and you have your equestrian-style boots on and just a chic blazer. Maybe it's the horse girl in me, but I just love that look,” Madix, an avid horseback rider, says. “It's so classic and I feel like it never goes out of style.”
There's no doubt that the Love Island USA host will have you cosigning on the look too with her holiday curation with DSW, which features a few of her favorite equestrian-style shoes and accessories.
"I do have a pair of [Kelly & Katie] gloves that I'm really, really obsessed with from this collection that are brown. They have a little horsebit, and I just think it's so chic," she says of the winter staple, which also go great with the brand's matching riding boots.
Madix's edit, which features pieces retailing from $20-$170, also includes a variety of festive closet must-haves to gift to yourself and loved ones.
Her top three favorite picks, all of which she models in her DSW campaign, are Crown Vintage's Shayla platform booties (for when she wants to go cozy-chic for casual hangouts), the Jessica Simpson Fladora pumps that for sure bring the bling and the red and purple Adidas VL Court Bold Platform sneakers, which add a bold touch to any look.
“Something that I always love about shopping at DSW is that there's so much to choose from. When I go into a store or if I go on their website, there's a type of shoe for every single thing that I want to do. I often end up, at times, getting more than I went in there for,” she admits.
Whatever look Madix plans on stepping out in this season, whether it's her most sparkly party outfit or her coziest apparel, she doesn't want to limit where her glam can take her.
"Something that I am learning a little bit later in my womanhood that I didn't realize when I was younger is that, if you see something that you want to try, just try it," she says. "It sounds like a cliché, but it really is. You can wear anything that you want to wear. There's no rules. Don't worry ever about something being, 'flattering.' If you see it, you like it, wear it, and have fun, because life is short."
