PFF gave their best players from each team and Marvin Harrison Jr. is already on the list for the Cardinals
Things are dead in the offseason, so listacles are the flavor of the day, most days.
Most of the time I tend to not show much of what others think of the Arizona Cardinals because it is usually is not worth much time, but this one caught my eye and started a great discussion.
PFF dropped their top three players on each team and number one and two were not surprising, but three was a little bit of a shock:
Kyler Murray
Budda Baker
Marvin Harrison Jr.The Cardinals were projected to get the No. 1 overall pick entering last season, but they exceeded expectations — if not in the win column, certainly with how competitive they were given their roster circumstances.
Quarterback Kyler Murray returned from an ACL tear and looked fine. His previous season was a down year, but he is still a top talent. Budda Baker is coming off a down year after requesting a trade but is still one of the Cardinals’ best players. Running back James Conner earning an 89.2 rushing grade last season made it a close decision between him and Baker.
Rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. is genuinely one of the best players on the team, and his numbers will show that if he’s fully healthy this year.
Also Considered: RB James Conner, TE Trey McBride
This is an interesting list. If you asked me the list would be:
Conner
McBride
Murray or Baker
I think you are looking at Baker and Murray as two ends of the spectrum. Murray was great down the stretch and looks like he is going to be back to being a top 10 quarterback in the league. On the other side, Baker was apparently injured most of last season, so his play can be understood with that caveat.
However, Conner and McBride were good to great to borderline elite for parts of the season. Hell, James Conner had over 1,000 yards rushing missing four games.
McBride looks like a bonafide star at the tight end position.
I love Marvin Harrison Jr. think he will be a top ten wide receiver in the league before we know it, but putting him on the list already is unfair to him as well as the rest of the team who have performed at high levels in the NFL.
