Artemi Panarin has been named the New York Rangers team MVP by the media.
This comes after Panarin recorded 37 goals, 52 assists, and 89 points in 79 games while averaging 19:43 minutes.
The 33-year-old forward led the team in goals, assists, and points, which is the second consecutive year he’s accomplished that feat.
Peter Laviolette feels that Panarin was fully deserving of this award.
“I think Panarin probably speaks for itself,” Laviolette said about Panarin winning team MVP. “You could see it in the way he plays the game, the impact he has on the ice, he is important to this team… When the games are on the line, when the season is on the line, he certainly is out trying to be that impact for our team to push us across the line.”
Panarin also won the Good Guy award, given to a player on the roster who the Rangers beat reporters find easy to talk to.
