Arthur Kaliyev is out for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs if the New York Rangers make it with an upper-body injury.
Kaliyev went down in the Rangers’ game against the Winnipeg Jets on Mar. 11, but it’s unclear exactly how he sustained this apparent injury.
The Rangers claimed Kaliyev off of waivers from the Los Angeles Kings in January in hopes they could salvage his potential.
However, he quickly found himself in a similar position to the one he was in during his time with the Kings as he was scratched out of the lineup on multiple occasions.
The 23-year-old forward has recorded three goals, one assist and four points in 14 games for the Rangers this season while averaging 11:13 points.
