As Liam Flees the Hospital for Kelly, Finn Texts Steffy With Life-Changing News

At the cliff house, Finn hugs Steffy and remarks that she’s been through a lot. They go over Liam being in the hospital and wanting to keep it a secret. Steffy says Kelly is asking questions and she’s sure Beth is doing the same. Today is the daddy-daughter dance. She hopes he might somehow show up, but the later it gets… Suddenly, Kelly emerges in her dress for the dance and asks, “Is Daddy here yet?”

Alone Time

At the Forrester mansion, Ridge tells Taylor they have the house to themselves. She reminds him that the last time they thought that Eric and Donna surprised them. He grunts that they’re playing pickleball with friends and they start making out. Falling onto the sofa, they enthuse about having alone time. Their phones go off and they get photos of Kelly in her dress from Steffy. They gush about the father-daughter dance and how much Kelly loves Liam.

Taylor’s proud of the way Liam and Steffy have co-parented Kelly. They agree that there’s nothing Liam wouldn’t do for his two daughters. Ridge and Taylor muse about how excited Kelly’s been for this night. He jokes that he gave her some of his dance moves. Taylor cracks up, and then they canoodle. Ridge thinks about his first father-daughter dance. He thinks he enjoyed it more than they did. Taylor remembers them saying he was the coolest dad there. It’s important to make memories to cherish… you never know when someone you love will be taken from you.

Daddy-Daughter Dance

At the cliff house, Finn has to go, and Kelly promises to tell him all about the dance tomorrow. After he exits, Kelly asks Steffy to text her daddy. He might have forgotten. Steffy hates to tell her this, but she doesn’t think he’s going to make it to the dance after all. Kelly gawps, “What?!”

In the hospital, Liam argues with Grace and Bridget, who want to make sure he’s safe. Liam says his daughter comes first. “I’m going. That’s happening. I am leaving here and picking up Kelly, and you are not stopping me!”

Liam begins pulling out his wires and the monitors go wild. Grace and Bridget protest, “Don’t do this!” as he gets out of bed and declares he’ll sign a waiver.

Grace and Bridget barge into Finn’s office and declare that they have a problem. Liam has left the hospital. He discharged himself. Finn gawps, “What?!” Grace says he pulled himself out of bed and ripped out his IV. Bridget explains he’s hell bent on being at the daddy-daughter dance with Kelly. She says they tried to stop him, but he wouldn’t listen. Finn huffs that he’s lucky to be alive and shouldn’t be pushing his luck. Bridget and Grace exchange a look. “There’s something else we have to tell you, Finn.” Something they just found out.

Shockers

At the cliff house, Steffy grimaces as Kelly stands at the door looking outside for Liam. She comes back inside and says the dance is almost over… she should probably change out of her dress. She’s not mad at her dad, but if it meant that much to him, why wouldn’t he come? Suddenly, Liam walks through the door. Kelly rushes over to him and they embrace. Liam assures her he’d never forget about this dance. She asks, “Where were you?” He says he stopped and got her a tiara. Kelly loves it and has her mom put it on her. Liam tells her she looks enchanting. He asks if she’s ready to get on the dance floor, but Kelly says it’s over. It’s too late. Liam’s floored. Kelly assures him they can go to the dance next year. He says he’s so sorry and hugs her. Suddenly, Liam tells Kelly they can still have a daddy-daughter dance right there. “You and me and mom! Let’s do it!” Kelly asks, “Really?” Liam grins and waves off some wooziness.

At the hospital, Grace shows Finn a file on Liam. She says it’s inoperable. Terminal. Finn asks if they’re absolutely sure there’s no mistake. Bridget wishes there were. Finn can’t get his mind around Liam dying. Bridget cries that it’s not fair. He’s a wonderful man and father. To think he’ll miss out on so many beautiful moments in life. She weeps for how cruel this is for Kelly and Beth. Finn, shaken, can’t believe the girls are going to lose him. Bridget’s so sorry they had to give him this awful news.

At the cliff house, Liam asks Kelly if she wants to have a dance right now He glitches while speaking and Steffy suggests they put this off. Liam insists he’s giving his daughter the dance he missed. Checking his phone, Liam sees a missed call from Finn and a text asking him to call him, it’s urgent. Liam ignores them as Steffy puts on music and lights. Kelly and Liam dance, but he struggles and stumbles. Kelly asks if he’s OK. He jokes that he’s a klutz. Steffy takes photos and a video of them. Suddenly, she gets a text from Finn saying he’s trying to reach Liam. His scans show a mass on his brain… it’s inoperable.

Horror-stricken, Steffy turns to watch Liam and Kelly dancing. Her eyes redden with tears. The song ends and Liam tells Kelly he wouldn’t miss this for the world. Anytime she needs him, he’ll be there. “Cause I’m not going anywhere.” They embrace as Steffy looks on, devastated.
