Ashley Darby Officially Files for Divorce; Settlement Already Agreed

It’s finally happening, and no, hell hasn’t frozen over. Ashley Darby has filed for divorce from Michael Darby, and they’ve already settled on an agreement. It’s a day that has been a long time coming after spreading out across three seasons of The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Ashley first announced her separation from Michael in April 2022 after eight years of marriage. Then, she spent time giving excuses for why she wasn’t moving forward with the divorce, prompting some to question whether or not the whole thing was for a storyline. Now, the day has finally come, and this marriage is officially coming to an end.

Ashley Darby and Michael are finally moving forward

During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Ashley teased that she had a big announcement regarding her separation from Michael. She told Andy Cohen that she’d be saving that news for the reunion, but the news seemingly got out early thanks to TMZ.

Michael spoke to the outlet and confirmed that Ashley filed for divorce over two years after they separated. He said that the two reached “an amicable and fair settlement.”

For those of us who have been following Ashley’s split, then you probably recall the RHOP star previously claimed that she and Michael had a sturdy prenup. However, at the Season 7 reunion, she admitted that the split didn’t work out in her favor.

“According to the prenup, I’m not allowed to get alimony,” she confessed, before adding that there were “safety nets” in case she encountered financial difficulties.

While it’s currently unclear what financial agreements Ashley and Michael settled upon, the outlet did confirm that they will be sharing custody of their two kids, Dean and Dylan. Cheers to the next chapter, Ashley!
