Austin Reed Returns! Patrick Muldoon Is BACK in Salem — And Fans Are Losing It

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers point to Austin Reed returning to DOOL since Patrick Muldoon is back at the studio. The show’s Instagram account posted a video of Muldoon, who also shared the announcement with fans on his own page.

In the clip, Muldoon pretended to be confused about where he was before revealing it was Salem and putting on some sunglasses.

Although Muldoon didn’t confirm he’s playing Austin, there’s a good chance he’s indeed reprising the role.

Austin Peck has also done multiple stints as Austin Reed over the years, but it’s Patrick Muldoon who’s returning to the show this time around.

Muldoon last played Austin in 2012, but he’s eager to step into the character’s shoes again if the fun video is any indication.

“It feels good to be back,” Muldoon said at the end of the video.

Of course, there’s no word yet on why Austin Reed might need to come home to Salem.

It could be for a friendly visit or perhaps a specific storyline that Days will deliver down the road.

Austin didn’t make it back with Carrie Brady Reed (Christie Clark) for John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) funeral since their son, Noah Reed, was graduating high school.

That could be a hint about what’s ahead since Austin and Carrie’s son is the same age as the rest of Days’ graduating teen scene.

Noah could become a key player and love interest option in Salem sooner or later.

With that in mind, could Austin be part of a new story involving Noah?

Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) is also Austin’s mom, so he might return for a mother-son reunion if she gets tangled up in some drama.

It’s too early to say for sure since Days films several months in advance, but we’ll pass along updates as Patrick Muldoon’s return airdate gets closer.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to Muldoon’s comeback and whatever he’ll bring to the table!
