Tonight a new set of photos has come out that has revealed that NHL superstars Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid are training together.
After coming into the NHL in back-to-back NHL Drafts Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews have constantly been compared to one another. Both have been on stacked rosters and have struggled to succeed in the playoffs in past years. In 2023-24 Connor McDavid got the edge in this category after the Edmonton Oilers made a Stanley Cup Finals run.
With the NHL season fast approaching both Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid have been practicing and training. To everyone's surprise, though the pair of superstars have now been seen together training for the first time ever in an unexpected location.

In a new photo on Instagram both Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid can be seen together on the ice. The photo comes via Christopher Kolarz who plays for Red Bull in the DEL. The trio seems to be training in the SAP Garden arena in Munich.
Both Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid can be seen not only in the locker room but on the ice together working on passing and skating drills.
This photo leaves a strange question regarding a certain player who is missing. One would think if Connor McDavid is training in Germany his German teammate and fellow superstar Leon Draisaitl would also be present. However, this photo seems to tell a different story.
The NHL season is just around the corner and both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers are in their Stanley Cup window. Auston Matthews training with Connor McDavid should be a good sign for Toronto Maple Leafs fans. Training against the best players in the world will only improve Auston Matthews' game.
As the season begins it will be fun to watch these two superstars compete and see who gets the upper hand on the scoresheet and in the standings.
