The Avalanche locked up two of their restricted free agents on Friday, signing Matt Stienburg and Jason Polin each to one-year deals for the 2025-26 season.
Stienburg, 24, played eight games for the Avs this past season, all in October when the team was dealing with several injuries. He didn’t record a point and played just 6:05 per game before a suspension led to him getting sent back down to the AHL for the remainder of the regular season.
Polin, who turned 26 on Tuesday, played just two games this season for Colorado, averaging 5:11 of ice time. He also did not record any points. Polin played seven games in 2023-24 and scored his only NHL goal that year.
Both deals are reportedly for league-minimum, $775,000.
The only remaining restricted free agents who played for the Avalanche last season that are still without a contract are Sam Malinski, John Ludvig, Trent Miner, Kevin Mandolese, and Jean-Luc Foudy.
