'Bachelor' Alums Slam Jesse Palmer for His Age Gap Hopes for New 'Bachelor In Paradise' Season

Jesse Palmer has found some criticism for recent comments about the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Bachelor Nation alums Rachel Kirkconnell and Jade Roper are slamming the host for recently saying he hopes an age-gap love story happens on the Paradise spinoff’s next season.

If you missed it, a Golden Bachelorette contestant and a Golden Bachelor contestant are among the first announced for the new season of Bachelor in Paradise.

“Lots of personality is a guarantee, especially from our Golden cast,” Jesse told Us Weekly. “That’s probably the No. 1 thing I’m really excited about — them being here. Outside of them having a second shot at finding love, I’m really interested to see the perspectives that the Golden cast bring, educating our younger cast on life and love. I think there’s a lot of value there.”

He was then asked if Bill Belichick (who is 73 and dating a 24-year-old) could inspire Golden contestants to date more traditional Bachelor or Bachelorette contestants, Jesse simply said, “Hopefully yes.”

This was posted on Instagram, but has since been deleted, however, not before Rachel and Jade could react.

“Hm don’t think we should be encouraging 50 year age gaps,” Rachel commented, via E News.

Jade had a much shorter response, writing, “Ew.”

In addition to Jesse Palmer hoping for an age-gap romance on Bachelor in Paradise, the show’s bartender Wells Adams also said he hopes for one.

“This happens all the time in the real world. Look at Bill Belichick right now. It’s happening in front of us,” Wells told Us Weekly. “I don’t know if it will, but I think it’ll be cool to have the Goldens around. The thing that I love about The Golden Bachelor so much is they’ve lived so much more life that their advice, their conversations, the stakes for them are just so much bigger. I think that’ll be a good thing for them to impart on all these young kids.”

If you missed it, another Bachelor alum is joining the cast of Bachelor In Paradise in a new role along with Jesse and Wells.
