Bachelor Clayton Echard Celebrates Indictment Against Woman Who Faked Pregnancy With His Child

Way back in 2023, an Arizona woman accused former Bachelor star Clayton Echard of fathering her twin babies. At the time, she claimed her pregnancy was the result of a one-night stand with the celebrity.

After forcing him to provide a DNA sample two years ago, the results proved Clayton was not the father. But that’s not the end of the story.

Apparently, the woman, now identified as Laura Owens, daughter of radio personality Ronn Owens, lied about even being pregnant. She used a fake ultrasound and a “fabricated … pregnancy video” to build her case against Clayton. Arizona authorities have now filed a seven-count indictment against Laura Michelle Owens of Scottsdale for presenting false testimony.

Sometime between May 2023 and June 2024, “Owens altered an ultrasound image, fabricated a pregnancy video, and lied multiple times under oath,” the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

She “originally filed a lawsuit seeking child support from Echard, then dropped her claim, alleging … a miscarriage,” prosecutors added.

Before Laura admitted she was not pregnant, she said Clayton urged her to terminate the pregnancy. “I would like for you to get an abortion (if you are pregnant with my child, which I still don’t believe, but it doesn’t really matter either way),” he allegedly messaged her. “If you do not, that’s your choice.”

Now that he’s been vindicated, Clayton is positively giddy. “This nightmare is over,” Clayton told NBC News. “I am so ready to not have to think about this anymore. I want to say thank you to [Maricopa County Attorney] Rachel Mitchell and the investigators for serving up justice, [as well as] my lawyers. They’ve been incredible standing by my side.”

“This is just such a weight lifted off,” he added. “We are so, so thankful, and thank you all for your support … This is a weight of two years lifted off my shoulders.”

Furthermore, the Season 26 Bachelor claimed he never even had intercourse with Laura, though he admitted she performed oral sex on him. I don’t think you can get pregnant from that.

This poor woman has issues. I just hope she gets the help she so obviously seems to need.
