For Grant Ellis, even the final rose has its thorn.
While the 31-year-old got engaged to Juliana Pasquarosa during the season 29 finale of The Bachelor, he took quite a bit of heat from runner-up Litia Garr, who accused him of asserting his commitment to her despite actually being conflicted between the two women.
“I felt that way when I was in her shoes and I didn't make it as far as she did,” Grant told E! News March 25 in an exclusive interview, referencing his own breakup with Jenn Tran during her season of The Bachelorette. “So I get it.”
After reliving her breakup with Grant in the Dominican Republic during her After the Final Rose segment, Litia, 32, told host Jesse Palmer she “felt like I got the rug pulled out from under me.” When Grant joined her on the couch, she scolded him for his “early assurance” both on-and-off-camera, but looking back, he had no regrets about his actions.

“There could be a bunch of speculation as to off-camera conversations,” he continued, “but I know what I put on screen is how I felt and conversations were real. I stand on how I acted and what I did.”
While Bachelor Nation may have been taken aback by Litia’s revelations, one person who wasn’t caught off guard by Grant’s declarations was his now-fiancée.
“It wasn’t news to me,” Juliana told E! News. “We had conversations after we finished filming and he walked me through everything. It doesn't surprise me.”
The 28-year-old added, “[Litia] is so deserving of love and I hope that she gets that.”
As for what’s next, Grant and Juliana revealed their plans to move to Boston during After the Final Rose—and with wedding bells officially on the horizon, the bride-to-be hinted that she already has a location in mind.
“It wouldn't hurt if it was in Italy,” she teased, “but that's not the priority. The priority is to celebrate our love with the people that actually want to be there for us.”
