Did ABC make a mistake by casting Grant Ellis as The Bachelor? According to Season 29 contestant Carolina Quixano, they might have. Grant eliminated the 28-year-old public relations producer in Week 5, right before the hometown visits. Now, she’s feeling salty that Grant wasn’t more clear about his feelings.
Carolina had so much to say about her time on The Bachelor that she sat down for a two-part interview on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. In total, she spent over an hour ranting about Grant and the mixed signals she felt from him.
Grant Ellis was called “reckless” by a Bachelor contestant
At the end of Season 29, Grant proposed to Juliana Pasquarosa, which came as a surprise to Carolina. She felt like she had been getting “reassurance” from Grant that the two of them had a strong connection. Specifically, she said he told her that he wanted to “move forward,” only to turn around and eliminate her.
“I was delusional enough to think the whole time it was either me or Litia [Garr] because I knew that we had gotten the most reassurance, or from what I had heard,” Carolina explained.
“And when she got that other one-on-one, I thought it was gonna be her, but it’s like part of me is shocked, but part of me isn’t because Grant kept saying all these things to everyone, and he was reckless,” she added.
Carolina Quixano felt Grant Ellis was “irresponsible” with his words
Of course, this type of scenario comes with the territory of The Bachelor. There’s only going to be one winner. However, Carolina felt like Grant went out of his way to lead some of the women on.
Carolina explained, “And people are like, ‘You know what you signed up for.’ No … I signed up to date the guy. I didn’t sign up for him to make me promises that he couldn’t keep. And that’s what made me spiral. And that’s what made me question everything.”
On the podcast. Carolina went on to call Grant an “irresponsible” Bachelor, adding fuel to fan complaints about his casting. Clearly, she’s happy to be turning the page on this chapter.
“To be the Bachelor, you have to have a backbone, and you have to stand your ground, and you have to one, not let yourself be easily influenced by other people and, two, know that your words have meaning,” Carolina added.
The Bachelor is streaming on Hulu.
