Bachelor Nation’s Peter Kraus Engaged to TV Host Hana Ostapchuk

Sometimes the best love stories happen after the cameras stop rolling and real life begins. Peter Kraus, the memorable runner-up from Rachel Lindsay‘s season of “The Bachelorette,” has found his happily ever after with Hana Ostapchuk, announcing their engagement in a July 4th proposal. The 40-year-old reality TV alum shared the news through a series of photos posted to Instagram, capturing the moment aboard a private boat with fireworks illuminating the sky behind them.

“We are ENGAGED,” Kraus captioned his July 3 Instagram post. “Throughout it all, it was always you. I just had to find you. I love you,” he wrote.

The proposal took place during the holiday weekend, creating an ideal backdrop for the couple’s special moment. Kraus emphasized the significance of their friends and family, writing: “Words cannot express the love and happiness we feel. Last night was truly magical and only possible because of an amazing support system of incredible people in our lives! We are so thankful.”

The engagement announcement drew congratulations from fellow Bachelor Nation alumni, including Dean Unglert and Adam Gottschalk, who both competed alongside Kraus on Lindsay’s season. “Congrats dood,” Unglert commented, while Gottschalk added, “The journey, the pictures, the next chapter, congrats man.”

From Private Romance to Public Declaration

Kraus and Ostapchuk’s engagement comes approximately nine months after they first made their relationship public. The couple initially kept their romance private before sharing their love story with fans in October 2024.

“This is where it all begins:),” Kraus wrote on Instagram at the time, sharing adorable photos of the pair enjoying time together on a boat and at a golf driving range. On the same day, Ostapchuk posted her own tribute to their relationship, simply writing: “My [hand heart emoji]” alongside a photo of her now-fiancé. Their relationship timeline suggests they began dating around September 2024, with Hana sharing a subtle photo of Kraus hidden within a carousel of images the month before they went public.

Kraus made sure to thank the people who made their special moment possible, writing: “Thank you Marge and Jim for sharing your home. Thank you @jenniferrayephoto for the incredible photos. And thank you Mom, Dad, Jack, Lori, and Andy for giving us your blessings and love!”

Ostapchuk brings her own impressive media background to the relationship, having worked as a talented TV host, producer, and graphic designer. The 34-year-old Florida native pursued journalism studies at Syracuse University and the University of North Florida, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in multimedia journalism in 2013.

Her professional work includes experience with major media outlets and entertainment companies. She worked as a reporter for FOX Sports from 2014 to 2017, before transitioning to CBS Sports as an anchor, where she contributed to their digital content strategy. Her career has also included collaborations with prominent entertainment companies, including Entertainment Tonight, Prime Video, Amazon Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Kraus’s path to finding love with Ostapchuk represents a significant chapter following his memorable appearance on “The Bachelorette” Season 13 in 2017. As one of Lindsay’s final two suitors, Peter became a fan favorite before their relationship ended when he wasn’t ready to propose during the finale. Lindsay subsequently chose Bryan Abasolo, whom she married in 2019, though they later divorced in December 2023 after a lengthy legal battle.

Reflecting on Lindsay and Abasolo’s divorce during a January 2024 podcast appearance, Kraus showed maturity and respect for boundaries. “I thought about reaching out just as a support system, being like, ‘We went through this experience together,'” he shared on the “She’s All Bach podcast. “We’re forever connected in that way, whether it’s for the good, or the bad, or whatever, I don’t know. But realized that wasn’t my place.”
