Matvei Michkov is coming off an incredible rookie campaign, but unfortunately his off-season hasn't started well after he was involved in a horrific car accident.
The 2024/25 season was full of ups and downs for Matvei Michkov, with the star rookie just missing out on being named a finalist for the Calder Trophy following a solid campaign with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Unfortunately for the 20-year old, his off-season getaway to Dubai almost ended in disaster, as a photo on social media has emerged of the vehicle that Michkov was in that was involved in a terrible car accident in recent times.
According to the social media post, it was not Michkov driving the car, but to be involved in such a potentially reckless situation doesn't show the best judgement on the part of the talented young star, and that may bring plenty of concern to the Flyers.
As of this point, there's been no update on Michkov, although the car doesn't look as bad as many accidents we've seen in the past, which appears to be a very positive sign that he escaped any serious injuries.
If he were to be injured, that would have been a brutal break for the Flyers, who appear to have found a franchise star of the future after he put up 26 goals and 63 points in 80 games played, even through the situation with now former Head Coach John Tortorella, who seemingly didn't want to play the star rookie too much.
When more updates become available, we will bring them to you as this story could become a huge one in the world of hockey, and hopefully after this accident both Michkov and whoever was driving the car will be okay and get back to full health after what may have been an incredibly scary incident.
