The comedian made a cheeky comment as they were heard talking about their Strictly Come Dancing win
Dianne Buswell was quick to rebuff Chris McCausland's cheeky comments as they were heard talking about their Strictly Come Dancing win.
The pair are still riding high, and rightly so, after they were crowned the champions of the BBC One dance contest at the end of the 2024 series back in December.
There were tears aplenty when the comedian who was Strictly's first blind contestant, and the professional dancer lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy after beating their fellow finalists.
They beat Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley.
After being announced as the winner, Chris said: "This is for her (Dianne) and it’s for everyone out there that thought and got told they couldn’t do something. It just shows with opportunity and support and determination, anything can happen."
He also thanked Dianne, saying: "She deserves this so much. She’s just honestly one of the easiest people to be funny with – and unless she changes her number, she’s stuck with me."
And he wasn't wrong as for the past couple of months, the pair have been reuniting on a weekly basis for their own podcast, Winning Isn't Everything, with the name inspired by Dianne's dad Mark's comments when he found out she was paired with Chris for Strictly's 20th-anniversary run.
During the latest episode of their podcast, Chris and Dianne were again heard discussing their win, with Chris commenting that it was the "the greatest thing that has been accomplished on British television."

Dianne then joked about how much the win has meant to her as she replied: "It hasn't gone to my head at all Chris. I do not go to my trophy every single day and just sing a little thank you song. I love it, I look at it every single day."
Chris, however, wasn't letting her bask in the joy again for too long as he replied: "You see Di, in your life, it's everything you've ever dreamed of, but in my life, it's just something that happened."
The Australian star didn't hold back though as she clapped back: "Don't give me that because you've now won a comedy award because of Strictly right? So you can't say anything. You've done well from it. Your little tour is selling out, doing three shows a day, sometimes four, so you can't be complaining."
It comes after it was announced that Chris and Dianne are among the nominees for the Bafta P&O Cruises Memorable Moment award at the Bafta TV awards 2025. The award is voted on by the public and aims to celebrate the most impactful parts of the year’s television.
The Strictly winners, who are the second-ever to be nominated following Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, are nominated for their performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone, which saw Dianne leave the ballroom floor so her partner could dance on his own before she returned to spinning in his arms moments later in tear-jerking scenes.
Sharing the news earlier this month (March), Dianne wrote on Instagram: "I am so proud of us @chrismccauslandcomedy we are nominated for a BAFTA for our beautiful waltz to you will never walk alone.
"It’s the only BAFTA award that the winner is decided by you guys. So if you enjoyed this moment as much as we did go ahead and give us a vote the voting opens at 8am today and finished April 25th I’ll leave the link in my bio."
She added: "This dance was so special to both of us hence why we chose this dance as our final dance to enjoy together on the night of the strictly final ! The emotion felt in every step was so so real and we are just so honoured to be nominated @bbcstrictly."
