Former Strictly Come Dancing professionals James and Ola Jordan have shared their heart-wrenching IVF journey in a recent interview.
The duo, who have been married for over two decades, expressed their desire to offer support to others by sharing the hurdles they encountered while trying to conceive naturally for many years. Their daughter Ella was born via IVF in 2019, but subsequent attempts at expanding their family faced tragic setbacks.Ola experienced a miscarriage after using a frozen embryo, and doctors later informed her that she had only a "five per cent chance of having a healthy baby" if they continued with IVF treatments.
In a conversation on Vanessa Feltz's new Channel 5 show this Tuesday, Ola, who departed from Strictly in 2015, opened up: "It was very heartbreaking, devastating. We went in and suddenly everything went quiet and I knew something was not right."
The couple also discussed how important it is to be open about such struggles, with Ola adding: "It's hard but when we came out with our story that we were going through IVF and struggling to have children, there was so many people who contacted us. It's not easy and it's better to talk about it. We had been together for a long time and tried for 18 years not to be pregnant because you're on the show, have this career and life," reports the Mirror.
"One day we said 'let's just take it easy and see what happens. We're not not trying to get pregnant anymore but let's not put pressure on it'. Years went pass and nothing happened."

"We had our wonderful Ella, she is wonderful and very clever. I don't know where she gets it from, neither of us. Very funny, very cheeky, she is just amazing," expressed Ola. Ella was welcomed into the world in February 2020, prompting James to share his joy online: "I'm the happiest man in the world."
Following Ella's birth, the couple had two remaining frozen embryos and intended to have another child. They first tried naturally but ultimately turned to IVF once more.
Whilst talking to Vanessa Feltz, James revealed: "We were told by the doctors that sometimes it reboots something in the body and naturally you get pregnant the second time. We've heard it from our friends who went through IVF and six months later something happens. That didn't happen for us."
