The Chicago Bears conducted their sixth and final voluntary practice of organized team activities on Thursday, which was open to the media.
Following a rough performance during last Thursday’s practice open to the media, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams wrapped OTAs with a strong outing on Thursday. According to those in attendance, he was quite accurate (throwing just one incompletion) during 7-on-7s against the first-team defense.
But it’s worth noting that the Bears were missing most of their starters in the secondary (Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker and Kevin Byard). Second-year cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was the only starter participating in team drills on Thursday. Still, it sounds like Williams looked sharp.
Here are some observations, from media members in attendance, at Bears OTAs following Thursday’s practice:
Caleb Williams today at Bears OTAs: he went 13-for-15 in 7-on-7s vs. 1st defense. One incompletion resulted in DPI. He threw darts all over the field, including a TD to DJ Moore. Williams/offense also won the situational drill, ending with Cairo Santos' FG and the lead.

Nate Davis was present at today's Bears OTA but working off to the side. Rome Odunze was practicing. No Keenan Allen, Montez Sweat, Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker, Kevin Byard.
Caleb Williams was sharp. Very clean 7-on-7 with a nice, anticipatory throw to DJ Moore.— Kevin Fishbain (@kfishbain) May 31, 2024
